The Cologne-based sorting specialist STEINERT founds the new subsidiary STEINERT MSort and takes over the innovative MSort sorting systems from Mogensen GmbH & Co. KG from Wedel near Hamburg, which has been part of the JOEST Group since January

The MSort product brand has been present on the global market for more than 20 years. MSort sorting systems are primarily used in glass recycling, in the processing of industrial minerals and in other applications. With the acquisition, the owner family Buchholz is pleased to have founded a new subsidiary that can offer further sorting solutions and that will expand the portfolio to include transmitted light and double-sided detection using color and near infrared (NIR) from July 1, 2024.

Expansion to include systems for glass and minerals

“The expansion of the STEINERT Group’s portfolio to include sorting systems for flat and hollow glass and units for sorting industrial minerals for the mining industry are just a few examples that represent a plus for us. The MSort brand from Mogensen is strong and complements our product range perfectly. We look forward to working with our colleagues and would like to thank our owners, the Buchholz family, for making further growth possible,” says Peter Funke, STEINERT Managing Director. “Thanks to our twenty-year business relationship with STEINERT, we know that MSort is in the best hands. We are handing over the product range to a top company with a strong global sales and service network,” say Dr. Hans Moormann and Dr. Marcus Wirtz, Managing Partners of the JOEST Group.
