Katie Mallinson joins the Untha team after working as an external service provider for the company for almost 15 years. Until recently, she was Managing Director of the global communications agency Scriba PR, which she founded in 2013. As a permanent member of the team, she has the task of supporting further expansion in new and existing territories.

The internationally represented company with a 20,000 m² production facility, a service competence center and a technology center at the Salzburg site is already established in Austria, Germany, Great Britain, Poland, North America, the Iberian Peninsula and Turkey and has a steadily growing presence in Italy, France, South America and Australia, to name but a few.

With more than 15,000 shredders installed worldwide, the aim now is to strengthen the global marketing strategy by creating a comprehensive communication plan for all subsidiaries, offering mentoring and development opportunities for existing colleagues and appointing local marketing coordinators.

Christoph Walchhofer, Chief Customer Officer at Untha shredding technology GmbH, commented on the appointment as follows:

“The world around us is changing rapidly and so are the wishes and needs of our customers. In order to continue to be successful, it is crucial to react quickly to these changes. I am therefore very proud that we have been able to bring Katie Mallinson, an experienced PR and marketing expert, on board.”

“Her appointment underlines our ongoing commitment to being closer to our customers, regardless of location – thinking globally but acting locally. We know that the market opportunities are growing. In order to drive our expansion plans forward in the long term, it is important that we understand even better what our customers really need. Only then can we drive innovation and help customers achieve their goals with our shredders and shape a sustainable future that benefits the environment, our company and our employees in equal measure.”

Katie will be based in the UK and will support the various global teams. She added:

“I have been working closely with Untha since 2009, initially focusing more on the UK and my expertise. Gradually, I have been able to get to know and support the individual company locations more and more. I look forward to working with the marketing team as well as the partners and new colleagues who are also crucial to our plans to develop an international approach to communications.”

“This is not just about creating new sales contacts. It’s about continuously working with the industry to overcome boundaries. Untha has already excelled for 50 years – now we are looking ahead to the next 50 years!”
